Keys to Success

Continuous Training, Networking, and Professional Development

Our networking and training events are a great opportunity for providers to share their ideas and learn from the best practices of other successful family home child care providers. This also gives our members a chance to get to know each other, grow their professional networks, and potentially increase their referrals in the area. Most meetings are free to members, however non-members are encouraged to attend.  If you are not a member, but would still like to attend a meeting/training, the cost is $10. • Tax Workshop

Our tax workshops are taught by certified tax experts and designed to help the small business owners understand and fulfill their federal tax responsibilities.  Topics vary from a general overview of taxes to more specific topics such as record keeping and retirement plans.

  • Website Best Practices

First impressions mean everything, especially when it comes to your business. Our experts will provide insights for business owners who are either getting started with their first website or have an existing website that they would like to improve. During this workshop, we walk C5 members through the website design process and show them how to make design decisions or find and work with a design professional to grab the attention of potential clients with eye-catching website designs.

  • Networking and Professional Development

Taking courses through training organizations or universities to meet state requirements can be expensive. In this workshop, C5 members are exposed to resources for free child care training courses, taught about the keys to professional growth, and shown how to implement techniques for developing a professional network that will result in child care referrals.

  • Daycare Setup

Our providers have been successful in the family home child care business for several years.  This workshop provides C5 members with tips and tricks for setting up your daycare to maximize space and provide a safe, loving, and fun environment for all your children.

  • Health and Hygiene

Our providers share strategies for engaging in positive interactions with children throughout the process of education on health and hygiene including food preparation and storage, correct hand-washing technique, using standard precautions when handling body fluids, sanitizing bathroom and toilet areas, cleaning toys and other items that children are likely to put in their mouths, and partnering with parents to ensure the health, happiness, and safety of their children.

  • Safe Seasonal Fun Ideas

Our providers share ideas and focus on providing members with tools that will help make their jobs easier and equip them with techniques to engage children throughout the year.  In this workshop, explore tools, games, and strategies to actively partner with children and create a culture of fun, interactive, positive experiences.
